For Christmas, Amber cross stitched me a lovely scroll that reads, “Don’t make me call my flying monkeys.” Today, while in GT Boutique, I found this tshirt. I’m crazy about it!

…if you’re from Casa Disco, that is. We celebrated Christmas in the Ottawa Valley. Tomorrow we embark on a Christmas/New Year at the in-laws, then on to my dad’s for some more cheer. In August, we go back to the Ottawa Valley for a “Christmas in August”. I’m supposed to be wrapping, adding finishing touches to handmade items, having eggnog, finishing the laundry and packing. ha ha ha I guess I’m a little Christmaspooped. So is hubby. We’re all Christmaspooped in our house. We will all drag our pooped-out butts out of the house and excitement and anticipation will hit once again when we hit the magical 401. Merry New Christmas Year everyone! lol

This year, since I didn’t really have much of a wish list, hubby was kind of on his own to figure out what to get me this year. He bought me a Citizen Eco Drive (this is the watch). The watch that is powered by light. Natural or not. It never needs a battery. It’s water resistant. It’s casual, yet dressy. I’m awful with watches. The battery runs out – then I just never wear it again. I’m not one for changing batteries. lol I now have the perfect watch. I love it. Other items that I received this year include: Son of a Witch by Gregory Maguire Fiskars Wire Jig Kit (it’s so awesome! I’ll post pictures of it soon.) The Fiskars website doesn’t show the kit, but on their wire tools page you can see what is in the kit. In it is everything from Wired Pliers down. Mom and Amber also got one! So exciting! silky jammies 5 pairs of warm/Christmas socks Knit Lite knitting needles (so cool!) lots of bamboo needles 3 handmade necklaces, bracelet and earrings from Boo Yay! handmade (F&*% Off I’m Knitting) mug (the word is actually spelled out on the mug lol) Dukes of Hazzard season 2 on DVD ….. God bless wikipedia! The history about the jolly old man is a joy to read and has me finally in the Christmas spirit, despite the lack of snow or wrapped gifts at our house. :) Read about Santa Claus and did you know that he’s Canadian?? You’re looking for Territorial Claims to the North Pole. Enjoy! Friday, December 15

For mine, I used vintage pink fuzzy yarn – Eaton’s Melissa and a J Hook Ch 200 Follow Caron’s Ruffle Scarf pattern rows 1–5. I made some changes. At the beginning of the rows, I used the turning chains as the first dc of the row. Instead of chaining 2, ch 4, dc in same st, then do row instructions. At the end of the 5th row, ch 1 DO NOT turn. Sc along row ends, then sc in each remaining loop of base ch row – complete by sc’ing along row ends on opposite end. Fasten off. This makes for a super-long, super wrappy dappy ruffly scarf! You can either wear it long or double-wrap it around your neck for mega ruffle-age.

Hey, it’s December 6th! I missed have an Ex day. Anyway, it’s 19 days to Christmas. If that doesn’t hit your panic button, crafters, what will?? I have a migraine this morning. I wonder if it has anything to do with the piles of unfinished crafts for Christmas? HMM??? Or the fact that I am procrastinating and not writing my Christmas newsletter and writing out cards? Or the fact that the tree isn’t up and the lights aren’t up and I have a package to send out and more gifts to buy? Or that I’m stumped on what to get or do for my bro. I only know what to do for one of our bros this year. Ah well. I’m gonna try to make a few gifts now before work. Wish me luck. Merry 19–days-to-Christmas! xo

Look at these wee cute puddy bums! The fronts of the puddies are in the Her Crafty Creations album. I had finished these for a friend. She made me some wee yummy treaties (that Amber is deathly allergic to :( ) to say thank you. She says they turned out better than she ever could have imagined they would. She just loves them and they are enroute to Calgary to her granddaughter. Isn’t that sweet? Tuesday, December 5

Sometimes I get this song - only one verse playing over and over and I don’t actually know the words. Only a few. It’s from when Amber was very little. She’d sing…. Winnie a pooh Winnie a pooh…. And she’d sing those two lines over and over. And now, that’s all that plays in my head. Well, it started again this morning. This time, I figured, I’m an adult. I have the internet. I can look up the lyrics to that damned song and when it gets into my head I can at least sing the words! Winnie The Pooh Deep in the Hundred-Acre Wood So cute! Saturday, December 2

A new afghan I’ve begun. 4 different stitches. I love this afghan in the book, so I have to see if I can do as good a job! They used (in this order) gold, red, purple, green. I’ve used variegated, wine, navy and green. I think it’s cute.
