A new book, just released by our fantastical re-writer of your favourite childhood fairly tales - adult-style, is Son of a Witch! A sequel to Wicked. Would you believe that the musical Wicked is returning to the Canon Theatre in October 2006? So guess what I want for Christmas?

I'm having a huge problem with this pattern for Adult Mary Jane slippers. My problem is the strap. No matter how I do it, it's not a strap when I'm finished. If anyone who crochets ...hint..hint... has like 5 minutes (or less), can you see if you can work this? I'm completely at a loss! I think the problem starts with the ..."Crochet in 12th ch from hook". And really, mine do not look anything like the slipper in the photo. lol

Check it out. The Angband Sweater is positively the most creative cabling pattern I've ever seen. It's delicious! I don't know if my knitting skills and patience for reading such a detailed chart are up to par for this project, though. I thought the one I just finished was difficult. Hmm.....

I am in love! This Kidair wrap-around ballet top from Lana Grossa is divine. Imagine knitting that for yourself and wearing it! It's so beautiful I'd want to wear it everyday and show it off! Jamma's going to love it too!
By the way, what's up with SpunMag? They were supposed to have out their Fall edition mid August?? I was really looking forward to that. Hmmm... Wednesday, September 21

This weekend, the hubby and I are sneaking away for an anniversary kayaking adventure! I'm so very excited as I am not yet ready to lay my paddle down until next year! On Oct. 1, hubby and I have signed up as volunteers for the Storm the Trent Event in Peterborough! We're both really looking forward to that! It's a running/hiking/cycling/paddling adventure race. We are hoping to enter the race next year! Wednesday, September 14

This fall's CSNF is looking like their biggest show ever! I've purchased a bronze pass which gives me the following: 2 day show admission Workshops: and a ticket for the Cropping Party - Canada's Biggest and Longest Crop! Of course some big names that you'll recognize include, Yarn Harlot's Stephanie Pearl-McPhee (she'll be there signing her book), Kaffe Fassett, Lily Chin (Lily's running some classes), Denise Powell, and more. I'm aquiver with anticipation, I tell you! I plan to work on a Christmas present or two at the Cropping Party. There are also in-booth make & takes (stuff you get to make and keep) and a Knit Cafe! We're going to the show Friday and Saturday if you're interested......

Fall issue of Knitty is up! I'm in love with Arisaig. I know that I'm not the only one who would love a Josephine. Lots of good patterns this time around. I know I'm a little late on this one, but MagKnits also has a new issue up! The entire site has been revamped and I love it. I love Picovoli for me. Alas, I have started another huge project and still have some others on the go. I have to empty my camera today so I can take some more pictures!!! So many projects, so little time! Happy knitting and hooking! |
