Not one mention of my outfit? Huh. I was hoping that if people didn't like it, they could at least tell me before I get to the wedding! lol Ross provided helpful feedback on the hair already... (and he's a boy)...

Yesterday, oen of the ladies who attends our Aquatics Program brought me a box full of yarn! Mostly soft, fuzzy acrylics and mohair/wool. Pink, burgundy, grey and cream. It's a lightweight and some of the soft, fuzzy acrylic stuff would make a lovely baby outfit. I must make myself a top out of this stuff. It's so soft! I"ll take pictures of my stash and post! I've finished the cotton chenille boob and I love it. Everyone who has seen it loves it. The boob I made is light pink and just the nipple is dark pink. It looks like a boob! With the leftover Crystal Palace Cotton Chenille, I am going to make this awesome flamingo! "Secret Project" - I've almost completed 7 of 8 squares. One error, but Amy says you only see it when 1) you know there IS an error somewhere and 2) when you scrutinize the square carefully. Well, I think I'm off to knit. :) What else is there? lol.... I'm looking for a quick crohet tank top. I like this, but what do you think? I have some lovely blue - kind of a deep ocean blue.... Also, Jamma, do you think I could have it done by the 30th? Keep in mind I have the following projects on the go: secret project (feel free to note that I was complaining of the heat and the temperature was 32..... ha! If only I had known that worse was yet to come!), cotton chenille breast prosthesis, soapmaking and tiny pinata gift thingy-making... Ok, I like this too :) It would knit up quickly on 8mm's!

Busy Fingers This one is neat if you are addicted to a specific type of hook... This one is laid out nicely and is easy to read, but I find it's not complete enough for me since I'm going to be starting a project using a tiny hook. Anna Bella's Cross Stitch Corner I love this one. Crochet Partners Aluminum or plastic Crochet Partners Steel huggems collectibles This is the winner. She even has a converter at the bottom for converting grams to ounces or ounces to grams. And she's Canadian.

Ok, I give. I am begging for mercy. It is a record 36.5 degrees in the bedroom. Just coming up the stairs had me soaked with sweat. There is nowhere in the house that is comfortable. I couldn't sit out in the backyard tonight because the mosquitoes were out in full force. The heat has me so tired I can barely think, this constant nagging headache that cannot be relieved - I can't take it, I tell you. I'd cry right now except that I fear dehydration. I am also extremely worried about my wee furry beasties. They don't feel like eating either. Poor things. I just checked the forecast. 5-day tells me that this isn't going to end anytime soon. I'm thinking of moving in with Dad for the rest of the summer. (except there is no room there - unless I share my sister's quarters.... hmmm...) God, have mercy on us! With cooling centres that are open until 7pm and another downtown - trekking down there for the night, then trekking back for a shower in the morning for work.....and then going to work - really doesn't make much sense, now, does it? Since it's too hot to sleep, I'm going to go and roll around in my own sweat until morning. Ask me why we're being martyrs - likely because my brain is too cooked to figure out how to convince my husband to get me A/C. Saturday, July 9

We're making the Tiny Pinatas from not martha. My sister is having 25-30 at the ceremony and dinner and 80-100 at the reception. I think 25-30 pinatas is sufficient. Her colours are blue and white (and silver I think), so this will make really pretty pinatas! I was also thinking of using some velum because it is translucent and would be so pretty! It's a little stiffer, but worth a shot. For the reception, I'm making tiny guest soaps. I don't remember where I got the idea, but using the melt-and-pour soaps and a tin foil-lined baking sheet, you pour the soap onto the sheet and when it sets, you can cut it. I am going to cut it into little squares. You could use cookie cutters and get some really fun shapes. I could do triangles and have my sister make up tags with some celtic knots. I actually love this idea. If anyone is interested in coming over for a day of crafting and helping me make these items, please email me. The more the merrier, I always say. Well, I need a nap. I started back to work today and afterwards walked up Queen St. (Yes, I went to Romni Wools. Knitting post to follow later this evening.) Tuesday, July 5

When I got home from my surgery last Wednesday, my summer copy of Interweave Knits was awaiting my arrival!!! I must have that big huge shrug and many of the other things in there. I love the Vintage-Inspired Jacket and Veste Everest. The Fur-Trimmed Wrap is high on my "I wants" list and I love love love the Greek Pullover. So many great patterns in all the magazines over the last couple of issues that I just don't know what to do with myself. I am knitting like mad to complete my secret project (which everyone knows about except the secret receiver) so that I can knit myself a pair of pj's and a tank top! I must confess that the Subscriber-Only Content patterns - are divine. I am so happy that I broke down and got myself a subscription to this magazine. I have come to realize that it is indeed my favourite one, no matter how hard I tried to resist! On Thursday, Day 1 post-op, my summer issue of Creative Knitting arrived. I love how they have the preview of the current issue on their website. You just go there and you can browse through the magazine just as if you were in Chapters. The upside of being at home is that you can wear your pajamas and drink your coffee from your favourite mug while previewing this knitting magazine. The Basket Weave Preemie Blanket will likely become a dolly blanket for our niece. I love the Splendor Wrap Top and I think Jamma will too. The Hugs & Kisses Ponchette is cute and is a free pattern on the website. I am hoping to make the Just Duckie Blankie for a co-worker. The Spun Sugar Baby Set is great for any new baby girls on the way and is of a more traditional variety. (Which I happen to love.) Topping off my knitting pattern fix for the week, is Knitty's Summer Man Issue. I love Kumo for my soon-to-be brother-in-law, Saranac screams "Knit me!" (and spend the next 2 years cursing me), and how about Cargo for nephew-o? Loving Boulder Belt for my skinny better half, and the super-awesome Satchel (also knit for his pleasure). I think Jamma needs Wild Stripes in a larger version for her living room (or bed) and I'd love it for my front porch once I have the junk cleared out and some lovely comfy furniture out there. (there was just a bird in the back of our house doing funny acrobatic tricks on the telephone wires. I half expected this bird to swing off the wire, catching the feet of another bird and the two of them swinging on the wire...very funny. Silly birdies, acrobatics are for acrobats! Monday, July 4
