No longer a WIP (work-in-progress) or a UFO (unfinished object), this sweater recently became an FO (finished object).

I loved working the cables and making the pockets. I loved doing the tubular cast-on for the sleeves and bottom ribbing. The tubular cast-on makes it so much better than a store bought, I think! I love it. I love how it feels.
I have to admit that I did not "finish" the piece. For the first time, I threw my hands up in despair and asked for some help from a deeply trusted experienced knitter. The problem with the pattern, and maybe this is true of all sweaters with hoods, I'm an extra-small. The hood is the same size for all the sweater sizes. Huh. So, when it comes time to sew that stinking big-fat hood onto your extra-small, child-like sweater, the hood seems to tower over the tiny sweater threateningly - like it's going to devour it. I had lovely little clips all around the hood, but no matter what I did, I couldn't get the stinking thing to fit. Now it fits, it looks perfect, I love it, I am deeply grateful to my finisher and it's too damned hot to wear this sweater right now. It is thick, heavy and super-cosy. Not what I need when it's 30 + degrees celsius outside.
I did weave in most of the ends, I did sew the shoulder seams and I did finish sewing in the lovely pockets. That's something, right?
