I'm working on wrist cuffs in that Zara that I picked up yesterday. It knits up like a charm. I love it. I love my new Brittany needles too. I can't wait for Ross to get back so I can take some pictures!

So I mentioned that I went to Village Yarns, in the Village of Islington (Burnhamthorpe and Dundas St. W.) I bought 2 balls of Zara 100% Merino Wool from Italy (go to villageyarns.com and click on "Featured:"). I bought #6050 which is a lovely cranberry colour. I'm going to make myself some wrist cuffs. I figure it's a great project to re-start knitting in the round. I also bought myself some Brittany dpn's. I bought one ball of Inca Gold which is 100% baby alpaca and is made in Peru. This stuff is heavenly to the touch! I found this gem while browsing around in the store. Yes, yes I know how to knit. But there are some super cute projects in here! I want to make the bunny, the pillows and the sweater for me. There are some great projects that I would love to make for Dawn too. It's a great little book! Now I'm off to knit before bed. Cruising around, I found Mme Glitchbane's Project Time Estimator for Hand Knitted Garments. At least now you'll have an ETA and know whether you want to embark on the hand-knit journey or not!

Surfing along on other crafty blogs, I came across this dream stash keeper. Once we Rader's have our own house and I have a craft room all of my own, I will be in search of one of these dream stash keepers for my very own self! Imagine what you could fill one of those with! <sigh>

Prime examples: riding a bike, ice skating, double-pointed needle knitting.... I figured out the dpn knitting without knowing I figured it out (mind you, I didn't figure it out until the fourth row...) This is what I'm knitting on dpn's. This one bootie is just a practice. The hat doesn't print on that page for whatever reason. I guess the file is messed up. I cut and pasted into Word and printed it. Looks weird, but you can figure out the pattern. I'm also using worsted weight yarn (cotton), using yellow and orange (instead of white and yellow), and I'm using 4.5 mm dpn's. How's that for messing with a pattern?

These slippers look relatively easy. I'm always looking for easy slippers. :)

A two-hour knitted hat? Is this a challenge? A dare? hmmmm Gotta find three worsted weights in my stash. Gotta experiment. Hope everyone loves hats... ha ha

It's nice to see that I wasn't the only one who noticed Jamie Oliver's hat that he wore during his New Year's "Jamie Oliver Marathon". The hat was pink, cream and grey I think. I mentioned to Ross that it looked like he stole his wife's hat as he was rushing out to the restaurant and his students. I agree with Jo, it is "lovely"! She's working on recreating the hat. I wonder if I can get her to share the pattern?

I think I've decided to crochet a Spidey afghan. I know a couple of wee gents that just might love Spidey!
